Take your children on a walk to one of the city fountains while you gaze at the USS Yorktown sitting just across the water at Patriots Point. These gardens and parks are shaded and paved for an easy stroller ride. After this, visit the Charleston aquarium which will keep everyone entertained for hours.
Or, if you are looking for a day at the beach, take a quick cab ride to one of the many surrounding islands. We personally love Folly Beach on James Island. The beaches are quiet and the town is relaxed.
