Gear Guide: Air Bassinet by BabyHome

Babyhome, an award-winning manufacturer of high-quality children’s products based in Barcelona, Spain recently introduced a new bassinet design to a long range of highly designed, extremely functional and lightweight baby products.. The Air Bassinet offers a range of innovative features to meet the practical needs of parents.

Today we discover what makes this product so unique and why all new parents need to add it to their baby registry.

Designed for newborns to 6 months of age, Air is an ideal way to keep baby close to mom and dad during those first few months of life, or when space is limited. It also makes for a great travel bed given its light weight of 13.2 lbs and ease of assembly.

We should note that you may find that zipping the bassinet to the frame is a bit of a challenge. There is no give in the fabric (which is great from a safety standpoint). This means that while you can travel with the Air, you probably don’t want to make a habit out of setting up and breaking down multiple times.

Adjustable Leg System

One of the neatest features of the Air Bassinet is that it can easily be moved around the house. Its innovative adjustable leg system allows you to change the leg position from stationary to a rocker to wheels with a simple click of a button.

Just press down on the side pulls and use your foot or hand to rotate the legs to suite your needs.

You’ll also appreciate that the fabric can be removed from the aluminum frame and washed. A micro-perforated base is included to facilitate better air ventilation.

Ultra Soft Mattress

Air comes with a high-density foam mattress that is airtight and waterproof that will prevent your baby from getting caught between the edge of the mattress and side of the bassinet. It’s so soft that we’re a little jealous. Be sure to pick it up and give it a squeeze. You’ll love it!

That said, the honeycomb structured mattress pad is completely safe and breathable. It also includes a 100% cotton pocket sheet for a perfect snug fit, breathable pad, waterproof mattress and travel bag.

You can purchase additional accessories including a waterproof mattress cover, fitted sheets and handcrafted Naturalmat organic bedding if you want to get the most out of the Air Bassinet

5 Color Options

Air is available in Graphite, Purple, Sand, Sailor and Rose (seen here in Graphite).

Attachable Changing Pad

An unexpected feature of the Air bassinet (in comparison to other bassinets on the market) is that it comes complete with a handy changing pad that easily attaches to the bassinet with a zipper to allow for parents to easily dress and undress baby.

When not in use, you can remove the changing pad with just one hand. For ease of use, we felt like it was most convenient to leave it attached on one side so you can quickly use it later.

Peek-A-Boo Window

For parents’ complete peace of mind and baby’s comfort, Air also has a practical mesh window hidden on its side under the fabric. The mesh window allows for better ventilation for baby and allows for parents to keep visual contact with their baby without having to get near.

The best part about this mesh window is that it has a magnetic closure. Most times, this feature would be attached with velcro which is irritating and loud. The magnetic closure allows you to peek without disturbing baby.

Finally, the bassinet’s featured side pockets are the perfect way to keep everything organized and at hand. If you are using this bassinet as a downstairs newborn station or at Grandma’s house, these pockets are perfect for keeping wipes, diapers or small board books.
