Daily Mom Spotlight: Born Free Breeze Bottles

Feeding your baby can be one of the most intimate bonding moments you experience as a mother. Whether you formula feed or pump breastmilk, we all want to choose the best bottle for our babies — it’s something we’ll be using around the clock, after all. With so many options, why not choose one that’s not only perfect for baby but convenient for mom as well? We love the Born Free breeze for its ease of use and simplicity.

About Born Free

The Born Free breeze is a product of Summer Infant. The company began in 1985 by William Lockett III, who sought a safe place to keep his baby girl Summer while his hands were busy elsewhere. Out of this father’s desire to protect and nurture his sweet baby, the original Bouncy Seat was born. Summer Infant works closely with professionals including pediatricians, child development experts, and lactation consultants to ensure that their products are safe and beneficial to the development of your child.

Bottle Design

They don’t call it the “breeze” for nothing! This 2 piece bottle could not be easier to put together, and with no spare parts, you spend less time assembling it. Its simple design is also faster to clean, and you never have to worry about losing parts in the dishwasher or cabinets. This bottle features a wide neck and its shape provides an ergonomic grip, making feeding easy and comfortable for mom, dad and baby.

Nipple

The breeze has a soft and flexible silicone nipple that mimics mom’s breast. This makes it easy to alternate between breast and bottle without any nipple confusion. The Active Flow vent helps reduce symptoms of colic by allowing baby to control the milk flow, thus keeping extra air from being ingested.

Nipples are available in 4 different varieties — Levels 1, 2, and 3 for different milk flows, and a y-cut nipple for thicker liquids. Use the one that’s right for your baby depending on their age.

Glass vs. Plastic

The breeze is available in both glass bottles or BPA free plastic bottles. We’ve put together a few pros and cons for you to think about before selecting which is best for you.
