Car Seat Guide: Safety 1st Grow & Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat

There are very few real “must haves” when it comes to having a baby, but having a proper car seat is one of those items that is an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, the cost of an infant car seat, convertible car seat and booster seat can put a lot of strain on our bank accounts. Thus, we were thrilled when Safety 1st announced the addition of the Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat designed to be the first and last car seat that parents and caregivers will ever need, making it simple to keep our little ones safe in the back seat.

Today we’ll share with you all the reasons why we are loving this car seat!

The Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat, seen here in the Boulevard style, is a car seat specifically designed to grow with your child. Priced at approximately $150, the price alone will make you do back-flips; but it was the safety features that really sold us on this car seat.

Grows With Your Child

With the Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat, you really only need to purchase one car seat as it satisfies the needs of your child as they grow. It easily transforms from a rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing car seat and finally to a belt-positioning booster seat.

1. Rear-Facing

The rear-facing position is great for children from 5 to 40 lbs. Body pillows keep baby snugly positioned in the seat and remove easily as your child outgrows them. Furthermore, rear-facing installation provides up to seven more inches for the front seat. Use the three-position recline to easily recline your child’s seat with just one hand.

2. Forward-Facing

The forward-facing position is much like many of the convertible car seats on the market and keeps little ones safer in a five-point harness from 22 lbs, all the way up to 65 lbs.

3. Belt-Positioning Booster Seat

When your child is ready, the car seat converts to a belt-positioning booster seat for children up to 100 lbs. The seat received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Best Bet rating for use in booster mode.

Smart, Simple and Safe Design

This seat’s adaptable design is a big deal for parents who want to save money while keeping their kids safe in the car.

While having an infant car seat is a nice convenience; let’s be honest, an infant carrier with the added weight of a baby is really more than anyone wants to lug around. We suggest skipping the infant car seat all together and buying the Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. As an infant, the baby body pillows will provide a snug fit to keep your child safe and secure. As your child outgrows them, these body pillows can be easily removed.

The Quick-Fit Harness System allows you to change both the headrest and harness height in one simple step for a proper fit. Unlike so many other car seats we’ve tested, you don’t even have to uninstall the car seat in order to adjust the seat to fit your growing child. If he or she grows, you just press the tabs at the top of the seat and push up. It’s that simple.

One thing we really love is the integrated harness holders that make getting your child in and out of their car seat so much easier. No more searching for the harness and clips from behind your child or having to untangle the straps.

On the other hand, your child will love having their own cup holder. Seems like a simple thing, but we’ve had car seats without cup holders; and for some reason, kids love cup holders.

You’ll also love that this car seat is machine washable and dryer safe. The car seat cover comes off easily. You don’t even need to remove the harness. This is great news for those of us in the throws of potty training!
