Wait! Before you even head outside, you need to do one essential thing: apply some sunblock on your kids! We all know the dangers of too much sun so play it safe and apply sunblock on your kids every day they are playing outside. One of our favorite lines of sunblock is one you can you can pick up at almost any store: Neutrogena! Neutrogena has a wonderful line of kid-safe sunblocks that are designed for active kids and busy moms. Two of our favorite products are the Wet Skin Kids Sunscreen Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 70+ and Wet Skin Kids Stick Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 70.

When you have kids in and out of the pool or the ocean, it can be challenging to get them to stop playing so you can apply more sunblock. 1. Turn on the sprinklers or the hose and have some good old fashioned backyard fun.

  1. When just the plain hose gets boring, use it to play Hose Limbo! Driest kid wins, but we are sure all of the kids will want to lose at this game.
  2. Head to the dollar store and pick up some cheap squirt guns and water sprayers– there are hours of fun to be had with these!
Tip: To keep the fun going and not get slowed down, instead of waiting to fill the squirt guns up with the hose, set out a few buckets full of water so the kids can just hold their toys in them so they can fill them up quickly and get onto the fun!
  1. Play Drip Drip Drop. Think of the classic game of duck, duck, goose but with a summer twist when you drip a sponge over your kids or friend’s head- and the “goose” gets a big squeeze.
  2. Fill up the water table and play.

  1. Three words: water balloon fight!
  2. Play Hot Potato but swap out the potato with a water balloon.
  3. Hang some water balloons and turn them into a “water balloon piñata!”
  4. Pull out the slip and slide! Don’t have one? Make one!
  5. Fill up the baby pool (or buckets) and fish for treasures! Use nets or your hands.

  1. Play sponge tag– think regular tag but instead of tagging with your hand, tag with a sponge.
  2. Pretend wash some laundry– give your kids some buckets and shirts and have them wash them outside and hang to dry. The more bubbles the better.
  3. Water relay race– fill up a bucket using a the water from a sponge, who ever gets their bucket filled first wins.
  4. Have a blast all summer with the Slam n’ Curve Water Slide from Little Tikes!

If you want to win the Mom of the Year award, you will want to invest in the amazingly fun Slam ‘n Curve Water Slide from Little Tikes this summer! Water parks can be expensive, especially if you have multiple kids, so why not bring the fun of rushing down a water slide right into your very own yard? This slide is perfect for kids age 5 all the way up to age 10 so you will get lots of use out of this fun slide!

The Slam ‘n Curve Water Slide is like a jumpy castle with water! It comes with it’s own blower and inflates on it’s own with very minimal set up. It’s easy for one person to do and inflates in just around 5 minutes! The slide has a small pool that fills up with a few inches of water which is perfect for your younger crowd and makes a nice splashing zone for your older kids when they zoom down the slide.

The rock wall style ladder is easy for even your younger kids to get up on, especially with the rope handles. With just a few short steps, your kids will be at the top of the slide and are ready for hours of fun! At the top, is an easy to attach hose that connects to any standard garden hose. You can control the flow simply with the nozzle and makes the slide super slippery for a fun ride down!

When the temperatures are on the rise, you will be looking for ways to keep your kids cool while having fun- this slide hits both marks. It is perfect for birthday parties, cook outs, or just everyday warm weather fun. The basketball hoop comes with it’s own inflatable ball and is great for a quick game of one-on-one and the roomy splash pad is great for making kids of all ages smile and laugh.

One of the best parts of this slide is how simple it is to take down. Unstrap the blower and the slide deflates in just a few minutes. Once it’s dry, roll it up and store it in it’s own bag. It can be stored until you are ready for more fun! The Slam ‘n Curve Water slide will be sure to give your kids hours of fun this summer- you can count on that for sure!

  1. Play Water Balloon Parachute. Remember that big parachute the gym teachers would pull out every year? They’d have every kid in class stand around the outside, grab an edge, and lift it into the air, while they threw balls on top, which you had to keep in the air? Make this an outside game by swapping the balls out for water balloons. If you don’t have a parachute, you can use a sheet or a big beach towel.
  2. Have an Ice Block Treasure Hunt: use a large tupperwear container and fill it up with fun toys and odds and ends and then fill it with water and freeze it! Give your kids toy hammers and other play tools to bust it open in the sunshine.
  3. Build some Lego Boats and float them in a bucket outside.
  4. Ice Cube Relay Race– take turns passing an ice cube back and forth to your team- first one who’s ice melts wins!

Now that you are ready to play outside, you need a swim suit for your kids that is not only fashionable but functional as well. Platypus Australia has a whole new Summer line for 2015 that your kids will absolutely love. From bold patterns like watermelon or mosaic, to boyish ones like camo or boats, there is sure to be a pattern that’s perfect for your child. These swim suits are so fun and come in sizes from babies up to size 14. Best of all, they are rated SPF 50+ which means they provide excellent protection of more than 97.5% of the suns harmful rays. Many people don’t realize that even though you are wearing a swim suit, you can still get burned underneath it. It’s important to invest in swim wear for your kids that will not only look cute but will protect them while they play, swim and build sand castles.
