Since Daily Mom’s launch, we’ve had quite the baby boom and recently, the 8th Daily Mom baby was born! Writer Ariel gave birth to her third child, Roman Michael, on June 30, 2014 at at 8:50pm. Roman was 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. He was welcomed into the world by his loving family: dad Andy, and older siblings Leila and Landon.
Ariel’s birth experience with little Roman was different than her previous two births. Ariel was induced all three times, but with Roman there were some medical concerns that made her a bit nervous. Ariel explains, “With Leila and Landon I was induced because I was past my due date, but with Roman I was induced a week early because of a suspected problem with his urinary system. Going into my induction this third time was a lot more nerve-wracking than with my other two because I was so worried about his health. Luckily, things with his bladder and kidneys look a lot better than the doctors anticipated!”
So how is the new mama adjusting to life with three kids? Ariel says, “Well, I’m only a week into it, but so far so good! Handling a newborn has progressively gotten easier each time. I’m a lot more comfortable with being a mom and I’ve really learned how to cherish each second – even the exhausting middle of the night diaper changes and feedings! The days may seem long, but I know firsthand how fast the years fly by.”
Baby Roman’s older siblings, Leila and Landon, are doing great as well. Ariel says they are both amazing with Roman! “Leila just turned 5, so she is a little mommy to him. She wants to hold him all the time and helps me with diaper changes. Landon is doing much better than I expected he would. He hasn’t shown any jealousy (yet) – he pretty much just goes about his business and will occasionally rub Roman’s head or give him a kiss. I couldn’t have asked for a better response to him in all honesty.”
Congratulations Ariel & Family on your precious new addition!
