A Love of Nature:  My little ladybug

Red and black will definitely be the underlying colors of your little ladybug’s party!  One of the great things about this party theme is that ladybugs have been known to symbolize luck.  What a great way to view this amazing day of fun!  Use foods of varying red shades in your dishes – strawberries/raspberries, watermelon, apples, tomatoes, and red peppers to name a few.  For your drinks, dress up your red solo cups with black dots to make them go along with the theme.  Balloons with polka dots or tissue paper puffs can fill the room!

The Free Spirit:  A Whimsical Garden Party

A garden party is definitely for the sweet girl who loves flowers and the beautiful outdoors.  Even if you aren’t in the season for nice weather, you can always bring the outdoors in by surrounding yourself with fresh or cloth flowers and beautiful green plants.  Think about the word delicate for this theme – sparkling pink lemonade, paper-thin sugar cookies, and dainty decorations.

Foodie:  Apple of My Eye

We all know that she is the apple of your eye, so why not celebrate with this cute theme?  You can also make a ton of goodies that kids will love from this delicious fruit – apple crumb cake, caramel apple popcorn, apple butter, apple chips – the list is endless! Cover the tables with red and green gingham tablecloths and place apples in clear vases or baskets to create a beautiful look for the room.  Bobbing for apples doesn’t have to be only a fall activity – introduce this to the older kids at the party (and even the parents!).  For favors, make homemade applesauce (or use store-bought) and wrap it in a burlap favor bag with a cute apple of my eye favor tag.

Early bird:  You are My Sunshine

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray!  Your little girl will know how special and loved she is with a bright and sunshine-y day.  Make it even more special with a breakfast/brunch for early-in-the-day fun!  This birthday theme is all about bright, cheery colors and ombre tones.  Use bright yellow cups and plates and fill your guests’ bellies with fun food and drinks including lemonade, blueberry and banana muffins, fruit skewers, quiche bites, and pretty parfaits. Liven the room up with bright yellow sunflowers and daisies.

This is a unique and funky way to enjoy your little one’s first celebration.   Instead of balloons, hang pinwheels around the room for fun decorations!  You can use this spiral theme within the food too.  Think about making pinwheel cookies, pizza and sandwich roll-ups, cinnamon rolls, and veggie wraps.
