There are things in this world that we moms cling to for our sanity. Each one of us has something different that allows us to escape the realities of poopy diapers, fights over the same Barbie shoe, and children who think sleep is the actual devil. But there are certain things that are universal to all moms, things that we can all relate to, knowingly nodding our heads yes as we remember that time when our child also threw an epic temper tantrum in the pillow aisle of Target. They are things that we see, do, and keep close to ourselves because they are what makes us feel like more than “mom” or simply allow us to let our minds rests for five seconds. And like our real-life BFFs, these non-human BFFs listen to our venting, take our minds off the piles of laundry and dishes, and make us feel like actual people.

I love being a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). I really do. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely have my struggles with it and it presents its own unique stresses and issues. But, when it comes down to the nitty gritty, it really does float my boat. However, this post isn’t about the joys of being a SAHM. It’s about the tongue-in-cheek woes of being a SAHM with a work-from-home-husband (WFHH).
#IMOMSOHARD – we mean, what mom doesn’t?? Well, a couple of moms decided to grab a camera, set the stage in the playroom, and talk about how they were screwing it all up – hard! Meet Jen Smedley and Kristen Hedley who discuss the ongoing cycle of criticism, whether real or perceived, that causes moms to lose their confidence. They paired up with Yoplait yogurt to discover new research that suggests moms are internalizing the judgment and even changing the way they are parenting as a result. To judge or not to judge, what’s funny about that? Well, if it has anything to do with these two… you might be surprised!
Have you seen a twitter feed recently that proclaimed “The Beauty of the Dad Bod”? Did you have to do a double take? If you have never heard the phrase before – have a little fun and do an image search on Google for “Dad Bod”.
The first thing that comes up will likely be a man who once resembled Jay Gatsby, Howard Hughes, and Romeo. That’s right, Leonardo Decaprio himself put on a couple pounds and now has a paunch. Wherefore art thou Romeo? He went to the bar and had an extra beer and a bowl of pretzels to work on his physique.
That’s right, the current en vogue body, at least for some segment of the population, is one that doesn’t resemble Matthew McConaughey. In fact it probably looks more like…

As moms, we’ve all felt the sting sometimes. Maybe your newborn will only fall asleep when Daddy is bouncing them? Or your toddler suddenly behaves angelic for Grandma while you’re away, and saves all their pent up frustration for an epic tantrum twenty minutes after she leaves? Let’s face it, raising tiny humans is hard. So today, we’ve decided to “test” moms against non-moms, to see who comes out ahead in some minor parenting tasks. You may be slightly jealous at how chic and professional your single girlfriend looks on a daily basis, but will she be able to hang doing your job?
Motherhood is hard, we all expect it. When you are first pregnant you prepare for everything you can: you pick the perfect crib, the perfect bedding, the perfect rocker. You research every birth option, every diaper, every bottle. You make lists for everything, compare, contrast and decide. Then your little bundle of joy is born and they grow and grow and grow- then all the things that you couldn’t prepare for begin to happen. Never did you realize how complicated life would get. Even if you’re the most organized person you can have days where you feel like your life is spinning out of control and you are powerless to stop it. Being a mom at home is hard enough, but when that fateful day comes and you finally decide to leave the house- never could you have imagined how hard that would be; how time consuming, how challenging. Why do these little people a quarter of your size make it so hard to get the heck out of the house on time? We’re here to share some of the honest reasons moms around the world are notoriously late- and 9 1/2 times out of 10 they are not our fault.
New Mom? We’ve been there! There’s nothing like having your world turned upside down then throwing in an extreme lack of sleep, normally used to counter balance complete chaos. This video is part of Leslie Newton’s campaign for her new diaper bag venture and it’s hilarious!! It highlights the “awesome” moments of having a newborn, but make sure you watch it to the end. There’s a cute message for the new moms about to lose their minds. You’re a mom? You’re the bomb!
Leslie Newton is at it again! The former designer at timi & leslie has ventured onto her own doing what she does best, stylish, functional diaper bags. Her new company is appropriately named Newlie and she’s calling on moms for some help with her new venture. You can contribute a dollar amount that coincides with a perk: $5 will get you a shout out on their web site as well as access to media documenting the journey of the company while $10,000 will allow you to design and name your very own bag and score you an invite to the launch party! Of course there are many dollar amounts in between with some awesome perks as well.

A lot of attention is given to Disney princesses–whether they are sexist examples that are harmful to little girls or harmless characters from beloved animated films. Little attention, however, is ever given to the Disney princes and their place in our real lives. We loved this hilarious take on what Disney princes may be like if you were to run-in to them in real life.
Which Disney prince was your favorite? Will this change how you view Disney films in the future?

Picture this: you’re with your child, having a jolly time playing with Little People and that precious face looks up at you with her big eyes and huge grin and says “Mommy, watch Einsteins!” Time stops…your heart skips a beat…and in that moment you quickly realize you need to remain calm. You take a deep breath and look lovingly at your beautiful daughter and say “Ok sweetie!” while simultaneously squelching your need to scream “NOOOOOOOO!”
