Each piece of clothing is handmade using a batik method of dyeing fabric and is therefore unique and truly one-of-a-kind.
What Is Batik?
Batik is not merely a technique, but an art. Batik is an ancient method of dyeing fabrics using wax. The word batik originates from the Javanese tik and means to dot and is an ancient tradition originating in places such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and China. Wax is placed on fabric and the fabric is then dyed. The wax is removed leaving a design in the original color of the fabric. The process can be repeated to add more colors and designs.
