THE HONEY-DO LIST OF MALE FERTILITY

When preparing to conceive, it’s imperative to improve the overall reproductive health of both women and men.

If you are anything like 15% of couples in the U.S., conceiving may not come easily. Some couples are able to conceive with the help of fertility treatments, others are able to conceive after time without the use of fertility treatments, and some couples are unable to conceive at all. If and when a couple does finally conceive, it didn’t come without an emotional journey and physical exhaustion.

Infertility is not sexist and can be caused by the male and not the woman in some cases. There seems to be a common misconception that when a couple can’t conceive, it’s the female’s fault.

The journey to becoming a parent is not always full of anticipation and excitement. Rather for some couples, they experience anything but excitement for they may be experiencing infertility. By embracing a healthier lifestyle and making better choices such as ditching the tighty whities, quitting drinking and smoking, exercising and having routine visits to the doctor can help increase the overall productive health for a man. For some males, these precautions and changes in lifestyle don’t always ensure that they will conceive, so fortunately for them, there are other tools out there that can increase their odds.

Today, we discuss a few ways to help increase chances of conceiving if you’re a male.

1. Exercise regularly

Having a gut has been linked to a decrease in male fertility because it causes a decrease in testosterone, oxidative stress and increased temperature in the scrotum. It also causes a negative change in vital hormone production.

2. Eat healthy

Add plenty of antioxidants into your diet as well as cutting out processed foods and soda. There is some research that suggests that by eating a diet rich in antioxidants you may be able to increase sperm count. Eat brightly colored fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins as well as low-fat dairy for the best nutrients to help increase male fertility.

3. Avoid excessive use of alcohol

Alcohol has been associated with poor male fertility.

4. Stop smoking

The same toxins that doctors warn us to avoid from cigarettes are the same toxins that have been associated with a decrease in male sperm count, motility and morphology as well as altered hormone levels. As if you needed another reason to stop smoking.

5. Avoid briefs! Wear boxers

Wearing restrictive clothing such as briefs can cut much-needed circulation to the groin area which can then cause harm to sperm production as well as decrease the quality of the sperm. Also, the use of tight clothing can cause temperatures to rise in the groin area which also affects sperm.

6. Proxeed plus

It may be hard to believe, but sperm health and sperm quality begins to decline around the age of 25. Smoking, drinking, drugs, stress, poor nutrition and lack of exercise can all contribute to poor sperm quality. Therefore, many leading doctors who specialize in fertility are now recommending Proxeed plus to couples who are trying to conceive. This prenatal male fertility supplement helps to provides much needed additional support from a nutritional perspective to help improve male reproductive health.

The ingredients of this lemon-flavored male fertility supplement (a powder that can be dissolved in juice or other cold beverage) are proven to play a critical role in sperm development and performance. In fact, clinical trials have shown that Proxeed plus’ completely carnitine-based formula targets multiple sperm functions, including increased sperm motility, count, speed, morphology, concentration, and linear projection.

Twice daily use (once in the morning and once in the evening) of Proxeed plus prenatal male fertility supplement may benefit sperm quality in as little as 90 days! Since sperm requires approximately 74 days to mature and up to 20 additional days to be capable of fertilization, Proxeed plus should be taken for six months, although initial improvements in sperm quality may be seen after three months. Improvements in sperm quality such as an increase in sperm count and motility while taking Proxeed plus will happen gradually over time. Proxeed Plus is available without a prescription. 7. Relax

Although this is much easier said than done, studies show that relaxing more when trying to conceive can do the body good. Some couples make the mistake of having intercourse too much because they assume they have to, whereas this actually decreases sperm count. When couples relax and have scheduled intercourse every other day around their determined ovulation, this will help their chances of conceiving.

8. Take Vitamins

Taking a multivitamin supplement that is rich in vitamins E and C as well as other miscellaneous nutrients will help increase male reproductive health. Take it daily and when determining which vitamin is right, make sure that the vitamin is designed for males and includes other nutrients such as zinc, folate, and selenium. These nutrients have been linked to healthy sperm production and better quality.

9. Visit the doctor

Not all fertility issues are on the woman’s shoulder. Oftentimes, the men are part of the fertility woes if not the sole reason behind it. It’s imperative that men have normal doctor visits each year to ensure they are healthy. By speaking with their doctor about any fertility concerns, they may be able to determine what’s causing the fertility issues and correct them.
