Cheap Beauty Products That Work

Cheap Beauty Products That Work 1 Daily Mom, Magazine For Families

I am a cosmetic/beauty product junkie. I’ve tried just about everything on the market from top-of-the-line “name brands” to “clearance rack” drug store finds. What I’ve learned, thousands of products (and dollars) later, is that the biggest names and price tags aren’t necessarily the best products. The following is a list of tried and true products that simply work… and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

I have a drawer full of expensive mascaras, but this is my go-to. It doesn’t clump, the color is rich and it gives great lash separation and definition. For under $5 a tube, you really can’t get much better than this.

Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm comes in a variety of shades and flavors. It’s SPF 20 and claims to hold moisture for up to 8 hours. Bottom line: it really is all it’s cracked up to be. The natural, muted shade go on smooth and are non-greasy. For about $4, these are great to throw in your purse, car or diaper bag. It will be hard to resist grabbing one in every shade!

I am extremely picky when it comes to lotion. I despise lotions and moisturizers that leave my skin feeling greasy and oily. I am also not a fan of strong fragrances – especially when it comes to lotions for my face. Suave Advanced Therapy Body Lotion goes on smoothly, dries quickly and leave no greasy feeling behind. And most importantly, your skin will feel hydrated instantly. For under $5 a bottle, you really can’t ask for much more!

MAC Paint Pots are used as an eyeshadow base and primer. When applied underneath your eyeshadow, they enhance the color and prolong the wear of you favorite shadows. Painterly is a great neutral shade that compliments any skin tone and any shade of eyeshadow. Don’t let the price tag deter you. Your Paint Pot will last quite a while – even if you use it every day.

This is a great, inexpensive, everyday go-to eyeliner. The color is rich and creamy and glides on smoothly. It comes with a smudging edge for those who wish to achieve the smokey look.

On any given day, you can find her arranging ridiculous photo shoots of her one-year-old son Graeme and cat Gizmo, or working on any one of her 27,000 writing projects. She enjoys daydreaming about becoming a famous actress and starting a handful of different businesses with her husband over glasses of wine in the evenings. Someday, she hopes to travel the country in an RV with her family… but she needs to sell that novel first. You can follow her journeys through her blog With A Red Bird On My Shoulder
