Epic stories is one of the best kids learning apps for children ages 12 and under! The leading digital app has over 40,000 books to choose from. It is teacher-approved and is now being used by many schooling systems around the nation due to COVID. Epic has become a very popular learning tool to many families and teachers especially. It allows you to sign up and create multiple profiles by age and name.

This is a great spelling and reading app derived from the BAFTA-nominated learning TV show. There are sister shows, including Number Blocks, that are beneficial for introducing math to kids and make the learning process easy, fun, and interactive.
This award-winning app is for children ages 1 through 8. They are currently offering a 14-day free trial and the fees after that are $59.99 yearly. Each story is read aloud and animated, allowing kids to read and watch. Kids can browse and search, saving their favorites to an online playlist or downloading them for offline watching. This reading app also allows a teacher to share books with students using programs that allow for a screen share option while they are teaching live virtually. Noggin is a learning app from the creators of Nick Jr. Noggin is the only subscription learning app that offers your children learning led by their favorite Nick Jr. characters like Paw Patrol or Shimmer and Shine. This learning app is also a favorite for many parents. Hooked on Phonics offers children games, lessons, stories, music, reading, and art. The award-winning app offers something a bit extra than the other apps. Not only do kids get to enjoy the Hooked on Phonics app itself (for $6.99 a month), they can get the Practice Packs Program, which is a monthly program that includes the Hooked on Phonics App and a monthly Practice Pack mailed to their door. Khan Academy is a FREE, fun, educational app with thousands of activities and books that will inspire learning and discovery for young children ages 2-7. The lessons contain videos, readings, and interactive components, which are sequenced so that you can start from square one with any subject and slowly builds your child’s knowledge.
Khan Academy offers courses to speakers of other languages, namely, Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese. In other words, you can take Algebra I taught in Spanish rather than English. Support for more languages is in the works as well. Given what it offers and the fact that it’s entirely free to use, Khan Academy is one of the best kids learning apps for academic subjects.

This app is highly advertised on TV, unlike many educational online apps. It offers a 30-day trial, followed by a $9.95 monthly membership. ABC Mouse is a step-by-step learning program of over 850 lessons in 10 levels, starting with ages 2 to 7 years old. There are a variety of subjects for kids to work on: math, science, puzzles, and more.
What’s also beneficial about this learning app is that it helps parents track their children’s progress through easy-to-read graphs that show progress by academic level and by curriculum subject. ABC Mouse also offers virtual rewards to help motivate and encourage the kids to complete the activities and earn tickets which are used to ‘purchase’ virtual items such as a new fish for the classroom.
