Rising Eagle Resort is located on Big Jessie Lake in Itasca County in North Minnesota. It sits in a secluded area with only two private homes and just six cabins available to their guests. There is little to no boat traffic in the area, allowing guests to truly enjoy the solitude of their vacation stay. However, it is only a 5 minute drive to a nearby town and less than 45 minutes to the larger city of Grand Rapids, Minnesota giving guests the accessibility for a quick vacation getaway or to access necessary items during their stay.
The quiet and private location of Rising Eagle Resort allows for slow-paced activities like kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or just hanging out with your friends and family relaxing by a fire over looking the lake. There is also as an abundance of wildlife.
Bald eagles are often majestically seen flying over the resort and the lake, as well as loons, blue herrings, pelicans, wood ducks, mallards, and Canadian geese. Depending on the season you may also see beavers, minks, and muskrats swimming in Jessie Lake while deer, osprey, woodpeckers, and hummingbirds surround the woods.

Rising Eagle Resort wants to ensure that their guests have an experience like no other, but they also want to ensure that this experience is relaxing and rejuvenating. With this in mind, they have only a few rental cabins available and less than ten RV and camping spots open during their season so as to ensure that there are only a small number of guests at any given time.
There are six cabins available to rent, accommodating guests from 4 to 7 people. All cabins are lakefront properties and less than 150 feet from the shoreline.
- The Eagle– Accommodates up to 4 guests with two bedrooms. It also has a fully-equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, a charcoal grill, and an enclosed patio.
- The Loon– Accommodates up to 6 guests with two bedrooms. It also has a fully-equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, a charcoal grill, and an outdoor patio with views of the lake.
- The Wolf– Accommodates up to 6 guests with two bedrooms and a loft with additional beds. It also has a fully-equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, air-conditioning, a charcoal grill, and an enclosed porch with views of the lake.
- The Moose– This is the largest cabin in square footage, and can accommodation 6 guests. It has two bedrooms and is right next to the woods, making it a bit more private.
- The Hummingbird– Accommodates up to 7 guests in three bedrooms. It also has air conditioning, a gas fireplace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The wrap-around porch gives it some amazing views of Jessie Lake.
- The Bear– This cabin can accommodate the most guests at 8 person maximum. It has three bedrooms, air conditioning, a gas fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen. It is closest to the lake at only 58 feet to the shoreline.
- Camping– There are 8 camping and RV spots open throughout the year. Restrooms are located in the lodge, and firewood is available for purchase.
The Low-Key Activities at Rising Eagle Resort and Nearby
Although Rising Eagle Resort is in a secluded area, there are still a number of activities available which give you another reason to want to stay there for your holiday. The Rising Eagle Resort and Jessie Lake located in the Chippewa National Forest, which has a plethora of hiking trails, wildlife, and special events to honor the traditions of the Chippewa Native Americans that inhabitant the area.
Within the Chippewa National Forest is the Lost Forty. This area of land was accidentally never mapped, and therefore never logged by loggers. Some of the trees in the area stand at over 350 years old, which now make it preserved and protected.
