Recently, our second Daily Mom baby arrived in this world. Writer Krista, her husband Jon and daughter Gia, welcomed a new baby boy on October 22, 2013. He was born at 9:03am via c-section, and weighed in at 7 lbs 5 oz.
When asked how it felt welcoming a second child into the world, Krista replied, “Having a 2nd child is such a different experience than when you have your first. It’s not nearly as scary–knowing what to expect from a newborn has made both my husband (Jon) and I very calm. With my first it took me a day or two to really feel like I was someone’s mom. This time that mama instinct was immediate and so fierce.”
Krista and her family are all adjusting well to their latest addition, her daughter Gia, specifically. “Gia is an excellent big sister. We did a lot of prep with her. We talked about the baby a lot and read big sister books with her. She’s really handling the transition better than we could have even hoped for! She looks for Nicholas all the time and is always saying sweet things like “he’s so cute!” She helps me out quite a bit – grabbing diapers and burp cloths and stuff when I need help. She loves to sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to him and yesterday she told me that Nicholas is her best friend. Maybe it’s the postpartum hormones but I just about burst into tears at at that one!”
Congratulations, Krista and family, on your newest, adorable bundle of joy!
