Upon arrival, coordinated transportation to Palace Resorts can be arranged from the airport to the resort. Check in time at The Grand is 3 pm but you can always start exploring if your room isn’t ready. When arriving at the resort itself, prepare yourself for the royal treatment. We were greeted with cold hand towels, a beautiful carnation, and flavored water and juice served elegantly in champagne flutes. Take in the pure beauty and elegance that the lobby has to offer as you begin your exploration of the resort. Every detail is thought of at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, from the warm welcome to the introduction of what the resort has to offer, the staff does an incredible job of making you feel as if you’re right at home.
Be sure to check out the Grand Buffet if you have a wait time for your room, as the staff puts your luggage in holding so that you are not lugging it around with you on your first adventure. From here, it’s time to decide which section of this massive resort you will tour first.
The Grand at Moon Palace Resort Rooms
The Grand at Moon Palace in Cancun does not shy away from the little details in the slightest, and it does not go unnoticed. Upon entering the room for the first time, an exquisite cheese and fruit platter is on display, as well as a bottle of champagne to enjoy, possibly in the marble jacuzzi fit for a king, centered in the room. With minor, yet elaborate details and accommodations throughout the room such as CHI hair care products and lotion, a mini hair straightener, sewing kit, complimentary gifts, a fully stocked mini-bar, and wifi, it is certain that the guests and their comfort are of utmost priority.
The jacuzzi tub in the center of the room was fit for a king and queen. This luxury was an unexpected bonus that tied the whole room together. It was the perfect cherry on top of it all, as the royal treatment is exhausting and a bath to unwind at the end of each adventurous day was cherished! End your day by taking in the beauty that Mexico has to offer from the comfort of your balcony.
The private balcony is equipped with a comfortable two-person lounge chair that overlooked the beautiful sun terrace and walkway to the main lobby. This balcony was the perfect go-to spot for room service delivery and mealtime when opting to hang back in the room.
Overall, the room went above and beyond expectations, making it a perfect point to relax in at the end of each day in paradise.

The Grand at Moon Palace Resort Food
With a vast food selection and 10+ restaurants to choose from, it is nearly impossible to try them all during your stay! And since Moon Palace Resort is all-inclusive, there is no reason not to try it all (if time permits)! While the room service option is to die for on the days that you hit the pool and beach too hard, the fine dining options are a must when visiting The Grand at Moon Palace, Cancun. That, or grab a quick bite to eat at your closest coffee shop!
The resort itself has a surplus of fine dining and buffet options to fit every guests’ taste palette. Many, but not all of the on-sight dining locations require a reservation, which the concierge service will be pleased to help coordinate. From traditional Mexican to Lebanese, to Japanese, to Steakhouses, the list of dining options does not disappoint!
At each restaurant, your health and safety are of utmost importance to the staff. Upon greeting at both the buffets and fine dining restaurants, you are asked if you have any food allergies or restrictions – this was a really nice, thoughtful, and smart touch. A system set in place such as this one makes it a formality you feel right at home and cared for above all else.
The Grand at Moon Palace Room Service
Breakfast in bed is a must when room service is all-inclusive! Room service menu options range from fine dining cuisine to comfort food. The perfect way to unwind from a day of fun is to run a steaming bubble bath, grab a good book, and enjoy a meal served jacuzzi side. It doesn’t get much better than that! But, not everyone enjoys the same type of relaxation after a day of fun!
Editor’s experience :
Most days, breakfast consisted of a plethora of yummy choices, courtesy of room service. The avocado toast, fruit, and green juice were our go-to picks, above all else. The green juice itself is to die for! A must when visiting any resort in Mexico. The next stop was exploring, then off to breakfast number two, usually at the Grand Buffet.
The Grand Buffet
Looking for a quick, fresh, healthy, and delicious meal? Search no further, head down to the Grand Buffet! The options were pretty close to limitless. From a fresh omelet station, fresh fruit, cheese platters, parfaits, fresh smoothies, and juices, the options were fit for royalty. There is even a kid-friendly station that has choices from pizza, chicken bites, french fries, fresh fruits, and veggies.
Cusco
Peruvian cuisine at its yummiest! Come to dinner with an appetite fit for a feast because you won’t want to leave without trying it all. Find yourself immersed in the culture and flavor that these Peruvian dishes have to offer, brought to you by Chef Mapelli, native to Peru.
Habibi
Enjoy a true taste of Lebanese culture as you dine in at Habibi. Witness a live belly dance as you experience this authentic Lebanese culture and cuisine and take it all in. From the traditional Middle-Eastern decor to the food, the details at this restaurant are not spared in the slightest!
La Cantina
This on-site Mexican restaurant will give you a true taste of Mexico’s finest dining options! More so on the casual side, this restaurant offers traditional Mexican cuisine, coupled with a live mariachi band to complete your experience if you time your dinner accordingly.

Hydrotherapy, or water therapy, is a water-based spa experience that incorporates water for health purposes. Starting with the sauna, followed by an ice scrub and contrast shower with face masks, ending in the hydrotherapy massage pool, 60° cold pool, and hot tub, this experience is nothing close to ordinary and is sure to leave you feeling more relaxed than you have ever felt before. This atypical spa treatment of altering from cold to hot water allows for a reduction of fatigue, a decrease in muscle soreness, the removal of excess lactic acid, and a decrease in swelling throughout the body. COVID Protocols at Moon Palace Cancun
Covid at Moon Palace Resort is taken very seriously, as the resort itself has taken extreme measures to ensure the safety of its guests. Protocols have been established throughout the resort, leaving a sense of ease upon each guest from start to finish throughout your stay. Each room at the resort is sealed with a sticker on the door to let guests know that this room has been disinfected thoroughly with an electrostatic nebulizer in between stays.
Some of the health protocols set in place include:
- Temperatures were taken upon arrival
- Shoes and luggage sanitized promptly
- Mask requirements when dining and while roaming the buffet, provided upon entry
- Digital menus
- Hand sanitizer stationed throughout the lobby and the entire resort
- Staff wearing masks and gloves
- Social Distancing floor decals present throughout the resort

This kids club is epic and is located at the center of the waterpark! Available for children ages 4-12, this kids’ club truly has it ALL! Unlike any other kids club I have yet to lay eyes on, this club is equipped to entertain all ages- not just the youngest kiddos.
The Grand at Moon Palace resort kids club and playroom includes:

- Indoor Bowling

The inside of the kids’ club is like a scene out of a movie. Your child could remain here for days without getting bored of all the incredible activities presented to them. The perfect place to drop off the kiddos for some parent relaxation and exploration of your own accord, front, and center in the waterpark. From arcade games to laser tag, to bumper cars, to outdoor or indoor glow in the dark minigolf, to bowling, to the ropes course, interactive digital sports, a mirror maze, and so much more, rest assured this kids club is a dream for any child!
Moon Palace Waterpark
This full-size waterpark is anything but ordinary, and is sure to be a family favorite!
The Moon Palace Waterpark includes:
- Lazy River
- Wave Pool
- Twisty Slides
- Splash Bucket
- ProFlow Wave Rider
- Splashpad with small kid’s slides
- Mini-golf
(Note: Some of the slides within the waterpark have an age requirement of 12 and a height requirement of 62 inches, while others require an age of 10+ and a minimum height requirement of 47 inches.)
From the indoor kids club itself to the surrounding waterpark, the Moon Palace Resort and all it has to offer is a child’s paradise! Be prepared for your child and even yourself to get engulfed in the activities, as you are bound to spend the majority of your time here. The waterpark is truly unlike any resort attraction out there – action-packed for all ages looking to have some fun in the water! It includes a surplus of large water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, a Wave ride simulator, and stand-alone waterpark equipment, so all ages can enjoy the fun (yes, even mom and dad!).
Don’t forget to order your poolside snacks before you run off to explore the waterpark so that you have a yummy treat to come back to before running to find more fun! Race down the twisty slide, get dunked by the water bucket, take on the wave pool, relax as you float down the lazy river, or run through the refreshing water splash pads, the options for fun are close to limitless at this dream fulfilled waterpark.

When staying at Moon Palace Resort, it will be in your best interest to download the resort’s available app to make navigating the resort grounds a breeze! Through the app, you will be able to customize your stay as much or as little as you would like. Thinking of ordering room service? Looking to catch a show in the evening after putting down the kiddos or dropping them at the kids’ club? The app has got you covered! While the resort itself is walkable, there are courtesy shuttles and maps stationed at every notable attraction/location that come around every 5 minutes for your convenience.
There are 9 pools on-site, each with a different vibe and atmosphere. This is nice because rather than having one or two massive pools that tend to get crowded quickly, there is a place for anyone at any time. Finding loungers and chairs to camp out at is a breeze, as the amount of pools to choose from allows all guests to be spread out and enjoy each pool at their own leisure.

In need of some adult relaxation? Let’s face it, we love the little ones, but nothing beats that quiet time every once in a blue moon. This Adult Only pool offers a quiet escape from all things kiddos! Enjoy some peaceful poolside relaxation accompanied by a drink in hand when you enter Unique. One of the nine prominent pools that the resort has to offer, Unique pool is a relaxing poolside experience where you can take a load off and be catered to hand and foot! Enjoy a drink or snack poolside and soak in the sunshine, peace, and quiet for a while before heading back to reality. Although this is a destination spot for all things adult during the daytime, it is also a hit at night, as this pool offers a club-like feel as a live DJ spins music to be enjoyed!
