With breathtaking views of the surrounding Mayan Jungle and the Caribbean Sea, it is not something you will likely ever forget. Once you’ve taken in the views, hop on the massive water slides to get back to the bottom of the lighthouse.

Once in the park, you can choose your path. Choose “A Path of Feeling, A Matter of Logic” to abandon your sense of sight for the day and rely fully on your other senses. “The Path of Doing, Loose Perception” will put all your senses to the test.

  • Along the different paths, you will experience a town that has been engineered to test your balance and make you question what is real.
  • On your way there, zoom down a waterslide into a cave pool.
  • Complete ecosystems are set up that guests are invited to explore in the dark.
  • A lazy mud river made entirely from clay provides a tantalizing experience for your senses as well.
  • Zipline through the air like a tropical bird to top your afternoon off.

This particular park is an excellent choice for families with children as they will be able to learn more about how their senses work and how to trust their own senses more. Kids and adults will have fun going through each of the scenarios and exploring the world with their senses and new perspectives.

Xcaret Parks are an excellent choice for families. This unique resort is designed with activities for family members of all ages. From beautiful shows full of Mexican history, fun adventures like diving and ziplining, and relaxing days at the spa, there is something for every member of the family. Children’s World provides a special place for the smallest children to spend time in the water and wading pools designed especially for them.

Is Xcaret worth it?

Our family visited Xcaret on a 4-day adventure with our 8 year-old inquisitive daughter and it was by far the best time we have had in Mexico. We travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico at least once a year, staying at different all-inclusive resorts and this was our first time visiting both Xcaret parks and Xcaret Hotel. While, in my opinion, both Xcaret parks and Hotel Xcaret are an incredible experience, worth the cost and the time spent, if you are trying to decide between the two, I would highly recommend the parks. Think Disney but focused on the incredible nature of Mexico with tons of water activities that would normally take you a lot of time to plan and execute, all in the same location.

Why is Xcaret so expensive?

Xcaret admission tickets, while expensive, are a great deal for all the activities and equipment included with each ticket. Xcaret works hard to provide entertaining activities that will create lasting memories while also remaining environmentally sustainable.

Is Xcaret man made?

While many of the facilities at Xcaret are man-made many of the water features are naturally occurring. The underground rivers, cenote pools, and tide pools are all part of what makes this area of Mexico special and Xcaret Parks incorporate those natural elements into the design of their parks. Xcaret is known for its over fifty natural and cultural attractions.

Is Xcaret safe?

Absolutely. There are massive misconceptions about Mexico safety. Xcaret parks are no less safe than parks located in the United States. However, like anywhere, you should exercise common sense and some degree of caution.

Are Xcaret rivers man-made?

The rivers in Xcaret are not man-made but rather are part of an extensive network of underground rivers that connect throughout the area. It is a great way to see and appreciate the unique features of the area.

How much are Xcaret tickets?

Children that are four years old and under can enter the park for free. You can add a culinary experience to your ticket for a daily rate of $150 for adults and children over the age of 12 and $75 for children between five and eleven years old. If you want the full Xcaret experience, the Xcaret Total Admission ticket includes your entrance to the parks, the culinary experience, as well as an extra experience of your choosing for $192 for adults and $123 for children.

How to pronounce Xcaret?

It’s a Mayan word, so it’s pronounced as Shkaret.

How does Xcaret work?

Xcaret works in a variety of different ways. You can choose to buy daily admission tickets to the parks that you would like to visit or you can build your own custom package with tickets for up to four of the parks. The best option is to stay at Hotel Xcaret, Hotel Xcaret Arte, or La Casa de la Playa which provides you with an all-inclusive package allowing you unlimited access to all eight of the parks.

What’s included in Xcaret admission?

The basic Xcaret admission includes your entrance to the parks, tours in three underground rivers, access to the beach and natural pools, visits to places such as the Butterfly Pavilion and Coral Reef Aquarium, and equipment for the activities such as lounge chairs, lifejackets, and inner tubes. The Xcaret Plus ticket includes everything that the basic Xcaret ticket includes but also gives you access to the Plus Area Facilities and one lunch buffet with a beer and unlimited fountain drinks. The Xcaret Total Admission ticket includes everything that the Xcaret Plus ticket offers plus allows you to add an additional adventure activity. These adventure activities include Adrenalina, which consists of a high-speed boat ride through the Caribbean, and Sharks, a Hands-on Adventure, where you will be able to swim with nurse sharks. If you choose to book an all-inclusive package at one of the Xcaret Hotels, you will have unlimited access to all of the parks.

What to bring to Xcaret?

For your trip to Xcaret Parks make sure to bring comfortable shoes as well as sandals for the swimming and beach areas. You will definitely want to have a swimsuit and coral reef-safe sunscreen on hand as well. Extra cash for treats and shopping is a great idea as well. Try bringing a change of clothing in case you would like to change after your water adventures. Secure lockers are available to store your personal items.

What to wear to Xcaret

For your trip to Xcaret, make sure to bring wear your swimsuit and comfy walking shoes. You might also want to have sandals with you as well. A dry change of clothes that are appropriate for warm weather such as a t-shirt or tank top and a pair of shorts would be a great choice.

What to do in Xcaret?

There are a ton of options for activities at the Xcaret parks. Explore underground rivers and cenotes to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Learn about regional flora and fauna by visiting the Coral Reef Aquarium, Butterfly Sanctuary, the Aviary, and the Rainforest Trail. Experience a bit of the local Mexican culture by taking in the Xcaret Mexico Espectacular or Papantla Flyers ceremony. If you are looking for something more adventurous try ziplining, snorkeling, or going down some of the large water slides available at the Xcaret parks. Ropes courses and hanging bridges will give you the chance to get even more movement and activity into your day.

Which Xcaret park is the best?

It really depends on who is visiting, as everyone will have a different Xcaret park as their favorite. If you love nature, Xel-Ha is for you. For adventure, choose Xplor or Xavage. If you love both Mexican and Mayan history and nature, Xcaret will give you a mix of both. If you have small children with you, you will love Xcaret and Children’s world.
