As a new mom, I struggled a lot in the beginning to make time for myself. Getting dressed every day seems like something that is not possible when you are a first-time mom. After a couple of months, I decided that I needed to focus on myself as well. Starting out by simply getting out of my pajamas first thing in the morning can make a major difference. I did not necessarily shower, do my hair, or do my makeup every day, but my focus is on spending just a few minutes to get out of my pajamas. Here are just a few tips on how to make time for yourself and succeed at getting dressed every day:
Take Advantage of Nap Time
Newborns sleep a lot for the first few months. This gives you time to nap, clean, work, etc.. In the beginning, it can be difficult to manage your time with everything that you have to do. Take advantage of those morning naps by getting dressed every day while you have a little time to shower and put on some casual clothes.

Invest in Multiple Sundresses
Dresses are a woman’s best friend; they are easy to throw on, and easy to dress up or down. Buying a few sundresses creates, not only make a cute wardrobe, but they allow for quick outfits during those days you just can’t seem to do anything on time. There are sundresses for everybody; whether you are a fan of solid color clothes (like myself), or flowers and other bright colored designs, they make it all!
Don’t Stress About Makeup
Makeup is a luxury and as a mom, it might not be a priority. Putting on makeup takes up time that you could be using doing other things. I guarantee you look beautiful without it so don’t stress if you run out of time and can’t get it done.
Getting Dressed Every Day Can Be Easy
It might take a little while to come up with a routine that works for you, but getting dressed every day can be easy. You have to find what works best for you and your daily tasks. Getting dressed every day has improved my life and it can improve yours as well.
I have found that I have more motivation during the day when I take just a few minutes for myself. Getting dressed every day has also improved my relationship with my husband; he loves seeing that I am taking time to take care of myself and am less stressed during the day. Doing this one simple thing every day is building my confidence in my self-image. I highly encourage everyone to try it and see what a difference it can make in your everyday life.
