Shopping for school supplies can be a nightmare for parents. You try to plan your trip to Target around the tax-free holidays in your state and then prepare for a marathon of colored pencils, glue and pencil boxes. How do you stay organized? Do you just go in hoping for the best and make return trips if you forgot something? Or are you more meticulous, organizing your shopping list down to the very aisles you will find the school supplies on. Maybe you fall somewhere in the middle.   1. This is pretty pointless. Every school provides a shopping list with a detailed list of what is needed each school year. Even my daughter’s preschool class sent home a supply list. I’d hate for someone to spend money on things on this list only to find that, for instance, their school district doesn’t allow markers until 6th grade (true for one here!) or that they are to use wide-ruled paper in 4th grade and not college-ruled.
