New moons represent new beginnings and people have been celebrating new beginnings with moon gatherings for eons. These gatherings are set to manifest goals, dreams, set intentions and plant the seeds. It’s where one can take ownership, commit to themselves yet, create a sense of community and unity. Women have a magnificent way of being there for one another and this is another form of that. Moon gatherings may differ between cultures but, the intentions to connect with life’s energy while practicing manifestation is true to its core.

SETTING GOALS AND INTENTIONS

Intention and goal setting is a key thing to do during moon gatherings. A way to manifest what one desires is to put it out into the universe. Journaling and jotting down those desires is a great intent to manifest. Noting them on a piece of paper and pasting it on the refrigerator, for example, is a great idea to ensure they are seen daily. Verbally share them for all to hear and create a mantra so, those goals and intentions are truly believed. Do not be afraid to ask for what is wholeheartedly desired. Revel in those desires and let them go but, trust in the process. Drawing the goals and intentions is another way to get creative in the manifestation process. Creating a vision board is great as well and a fun project during moon gatherings.

MANIFESTING WHILE MEDITATING

During the meditation process, many ask for openness with something as simple as a prayer to the universe. A clear mind and breathwork to fully relax may be helpful. Being as present as possible is always a must. Dosing off and thinking about other things will be too distracting. The energy that’s being put out into the universe should be laser-focused on what one is attempting to manifest. Time-wise 10-15 minutes is good enough time to meditate and if one can do this daily it is even better. Hold the list of goals and intentions that were created prior to this. Visualize each one. Imagine every single one manifesting. Breathe. Perhaps have meditation music on in the background. Clear your space for moon gatherings and dive into these goals that have been set and feel them manifesting. Meditation during the moon gatherings is done to focus and clear the mind so, one can fully be conscious of what is desired.

SETTING THE VIBE FOR THE NEXT MOON GATHERINGS

Usually, everyone sits in a circle. If the weather permits doing this outside would be fun. Light some candles. Burn some sage. Burning sage also known as smudging is said to heal, protect energy, increase wisdom, it’s said to have been used in ancient medicine. Sage contains antioxidant properties where it can purify the air. It has a broad spectrum of healing properties. It’s been used to repel insects and to improve intuition. Smudging can be done to clear and improve energies in a space and can be done daily. In the center of the circle create a mini altar or a sacred area with crystals, flowers and little things that may bring inspiration. Have the guests bring their treasures as well and have them placed in the center of the circle. Consider this a little party to celebrate goals and intentions. Make some tea and prepare snacks for all to enjoy.

THE MOON AND ITS MANY PHASES

It takes one month for the moon to navigate around the earth. Generally, moon gatherings are done during new moons but, its phases and shifts in energy may correlate to one’s shifting energies throughout the month. The moon goes through its eight phases and they are the following:

New moon: The first phase and it occurs when the sun and moon are aligned with the Sun and planet Earth is on the opposite side of the moon. New Moons usually cannot be seen from Earth since the dark side of the moon is facing us at this point.

Waxing Crescent: This occurs as soon as the thin part of the moon becomes visible after the new moon. That’s the beginning of the second phase.

First Quarter: The first quarter is when the moon is 50% visible. Some may also call this phase Half Moon.

Waxing Gibbous: The following phase may be obvious because the moon is getting bigger at this point. Hence the name, Waxing, which means the moon is getting bigger and Gibbous is referring to the shape.

Full Moon: This is during the night when the Sun and the Moon are aligned on opposite sides of the Earth. All of this is quite fascinating and makes sense when discussing the energies of the universe as it all correlates.

Waning Gibbous:  During this phase, the portion of the visible Half Moon is illuminated and the size usually has decreased.

The following phases are similar to the earlier phases just opposite as the moon continues to navigate around the earth.

To conclude the moon gatherings, end with a group hug and express gratitude for your life and everything in it. One will without a doubt experience the abundance that is constantly available. Make thankfulness a regular practice and keep an eye out as the universe conspires in one’s favor. Also, notice if there are any internal shifts as the moon goes through its phases.
