4 Simple Ingredients to CLARIFY Skin

In an average day, our skin is exposed to hundreds of irritants – free radicals, pollution, sweat, grime, and makeup, to name a few.  These irritants can do a number on skin, and make it appear dingy, spotty, and dull.

We are going to show you a natural face mask that contains 5 ingredients that are probably already in your kitchen, and will help clarify  your skin – meaning, clear out the junk! This is critical to preventing breakouts, and keeping a youthful appearance.  Proper skincare goes a long way in terms of anti-aging effects, which is something we all can get excited about!

About The Ingredients

Yogurt

Surprisingly, yogurt is a gentle, natural exfoliant – which is hard to believe, given its soft, smooth consistency.  The secret is in yogurt’s lactic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid.  Alpha hydroxy acids help exfoliate skin, making yogurt a great alternative to the harsh exfoliants you’d find at a drugstore.

Egg Whites

Egg whites can work magic on your skin.  They help stop breakouts, firm skin, and reduce redness.  Protein, vitamins, and minerals found in egg whites help to nourish, as well as tighten and firm up your skin.

Lemon

Lemon juice helps to brighten your skin, exfoliate, and refine your pores.  It also helps lighten the appearance of scars from previous acne breakouts, and is great at fighting oily skin.  Lemon juice acts as a natural astringent, which helps to dry out existing blemishes.

Honey

Raw, unprocessed honey contains enzymes that are extremely beneficial to your skin.  Honey contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it great to treat acne.  It also acts as a humectant – meaning, it draws moisture from the air and binds that moisture to your skin, making it a powerful natural moisturizer.  Honey also refines your pores and tightens your skin.

Here’s What You Need:

  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons honey (like Pacifica’s virgin sage honey)
  • 4 teaspoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons plain yogurt (standard or Greek)

Here’s What You Do:

Whisk the egg white until it is frothy.  Slowly blend in the remaining ingredients until they are well incorporated.

Apply the mask to your skin for 10-15 minutes, then gently rinse off.
