12. The Book of Life
The Hair-Raising Facts:
Though this movie is technically more about Dia de los Muertos, for all intents and purposes we’ll just call it a Halloween film. It’s about three friends (two boys and a girl) from a small Mexican town whose lives go in different directions but they come back together and battle over who is going to marry the girl.
Scare-O-Meter: 4 Screams
The animation is unlike anything you’ve seen and the story is one of the power of love and friendship. Adults will like this movie possibly more than the kids.
