The 5 Best Face Yoga Exercises

The last few years have been stressful. A global pandemic and political unrest are just the biggest stressors. Family life, work life, and social life have, in most cases, been turned upside down and are finally getting back into routines. We’re tired, overworked, and need an increase in our self-care. One of the easiest, and FREE, ways we can take care of ourselves is with face yoga exercises at home. But you don’t need any equipment or subscription for this exercise routine. We’ve pulled together the 5 best face yoga exercises that are simple, free, and will give the part of your everyone sees a beautiful lift we could all use right now.

What are Face Yoga Exercises?

Face yoga exercises are all about incorporating massage and exercises into a routine that stimulates the muscles, skin, and lymphatic system in the face. Just like how yoga helps your body stay firm and healthy, face yoga is a way to keep your face firm and healthy. While it’s called “yoga”, there’s no “downward dog” here. Face Yoga is just a fancy name for moving your face muscles into certain positions.

Some face yoga exercises can also be done with facial tools like a jade roller, a gua sha, a hair comb, a wand, or other specialty tools, though they aren’t needed. What can be neat about them is some of them can be placed in the fridge for a cooler temperature massage, and you can even find vibrating tools for the added texture.

Why Incorporate Face Yoga Exercises?

This technique of facial massage is designed to help alleviate tension, stress, and worry while softening and relaxing your face muscles. Of course one of the largest benefits of face yoga exercises is that it may reduce the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles without invasive facelift procedures or Botox injections. You can also increase blood circulation, reduce puffiness, and improve your posture. All without paying a dime!

Face yoga exercises provide anti-aging results through a combination of massage and facial exercise. By practicing daily for 20 minutes results can be seen as early as six weeks.

How To Do Face Yoga Exercises?

It’s simple! Get comfy. Face yoga exercises are really all about using your hands on your face, while also just manipulating facial muscles by themselves (like opening your mouth). But if you want to step up your self-care game, turn on some relaxing music, maybe spray some aromatherapy or light a candle, and use a light face lotion or oil to help your hands glide smoothly. Use this time to incorporate it as self-care and not work and you’ll stick with it.

The real key to getting results with face yoga exercises is consistency. If you practice more then you’ll see quicker and better results.
