The Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 Convertible Gentry car seat is easy to install for busy parents. Take a look at these 5 easy-to-follow installation steps for rear-facing system use:

1. Connect and tighten the harness straps before installing the seat in your vehicle. Place the car seat in the back seat and with the child restrained in the most inclined position, make sure that the lines are level on the shoulder belt positioning guide are level with the ground. Adjust the straps if needed. NOTE: Make sure to tuck the top anchorage strap and hook it under the base or child restraint.
2. Fasten one LATCH belt hook to the anchor in your vehicle located in the vehicle’s seat and then repeat for the other side of the child seat and pull up on the loops to tighten the belts.
3. Make sure to push down firmly and ensure the belts are tightened. In some instances, you may need to remove part of the front pad off of the front corner in order to expose the belt path which makes it easier for install. You can then tighten the belt through the belt path slot. Make sure to replace the pad onto the corner once this step has been completed.
4. Tilt and push the child seat forward and back and from side to side. If the belts remain tight and do not loosen, your child restraint should be secure. Also, note that slight movement from front to back or about an inch side to side is both normal and acceptable by safety standards.
5. Place infant in child restraint, and secure them in place by following the “securing your child in the child restraint” section in the book provided with your system.
