y husband and I have been in the process of trying to conceive for 6 months and while I was charting and using OPKs I didn’t really use any products that would help our chances of conception. Then I was introduced to Fairhaven Fertility products and they have opened my eyes to so many fertility resources! Fairhaven Fertility has a range of products and supplements that will assist couples in their quest of conceiving naturally.

If you and your partner have tried to conceive but found that you are having trouble because of an irregular cycle or not having the right charting resources I recommend looking into Fairhaven Fertility before beginning any extensive medical procedures or testing. Read on to find out why Fairhaven might just be the resource you need!

Fertility Yoga

Fairhaven has an amazing DVD available called Bend, Breath & Conceive. Through this DVD you will discover new breathing techniques, become more flexible and lower your stress and anxiety levels. All of these are not only beneficial, but crucial, to reaching a place mentally and physically to conceive.

“In a recent clinical study, just ten weeks of yoga was shown to improve overall fertility fitness and increase conception rates among women in the experimental yoga group.” (source)

I am not, by any means, a very experienced yoga student; I have practiced yoga stretches and poses with irregularity in my fitness routine. The Bend, Breathe, & Conceive DVD, however, has made its way into my daily fitness regimen. I like to use the hour of participating with the DVD to relax my mind and bring myself into a place of comfort and center.

Ovaboost

You may think that your eggs are something you have no need to worry about until you are older. Not true! You should not only be concerned with the number of eggs you have, but also with the quality of your eggs.  Ovaboost contains ingredients such as folic acid, melatonin and a laundry list of amazing antioxidants. As you know from our Your Vitamins: Explained article, folic acid is the must-take of prenatal vitamin supplements. Did you know, however, that “recent research indicates that when folic acid is given in combination with two powerful antioxidants, myo-inositol and melatonin, egg quality is significantly improved in women undergoing IVF treatments. Recent research also confirms that myo-inositol works to improve insulin sensitivity, thereby helping to promote optimal ovarian function and cycle regularity in women with PCOS.” (source)  These three ingredients can all be found in Ovaboost and will promote optimal ovarian function.

FertilAid for Women

I have been taking FertilAid for Women in conjunction with the other two supplements. All 3 of these are perfectly safe to combine and should be taken with food 3 times a day.

You may notice, within your first cycle of taking these supplements, that your cycle will begin to regulate and your pH will begin to balance out. If you have had issues with an irregular cycle or are unsure about when you are ovulating, I would highly recommend these supplements to help get you on the right track with charting and planning for baby!

“It contains herbal ingredients that have been shown to exert a normalizing influence on key reproductive hormones, including progesterone, prolactin, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and estrogen. On the market since 2003 and used by tens of thousands of women, FertilAid for Women has no known side effects.” (source)

FertilAid for Men

My husband began taking FertilAid for Men at the same time that I began a supplement regimen of Ovaboost, FertileCM & FertilAid for Women. He is so excited at the possibility of these supplements helping us to conceive that he doesn’t even need to be reminded to take them!

FertilAid for Men helps with sperm morphology (ensuring the right shape and size), motility (their ability to get where they are supposed to go), and number of sperm. If you think that your issue with conceiving might be on your husband’s end of things, have him try FertilAid for Men, and you may find that you don’t need to have an expensive testing or procedure done yet.

Ovacue Fertility Monitor

Fairhaven Health also has an amazing gadget for use in ovulation prediction! My husband calls it “the Gameboy” because it is a hand-held device with a little screen and a few key buttons. When you first get your Ovacue you will record your usual cycle length, what cycle day you are on, and what day you began taking the fertility supplements.

There are two accessories for the Ovacue: the oral sensor which comes with the Ovacue, and you may also purchase the optional vaginal sensor for additional prediction accuracy. Both of these sense the number of electrolytes in your saliva and cervical mucous, respectively, and record a number on the Ovacue’s screen. This number is specific to the Ovacue and does not translate to any other charting methods.

Why does it track electrolyte counts?

The OvaCue is a saliva-based monitor that measures changes in the electrolyte levels in your saliva that are impacted by the hormone estrogen. Simply place the oral sensor on your tongue daily and the OvaCue will record a reading of the electrolyte resistance in your saliva. The monitor will track trends in these readings, looking to identify a specific trend that marks the beginning of your fertile window. Once this trend is detected, the monitor will color-in the calendar with varying shades of blue (from light to dark), indicating low to peak fertility, and providing 5-7 days advance notice of ovulation. With several days advance notice of ovulation, you are able to increase your chances of conception. (source)

The oral reading should be done at the same time every morning, along with your BBT charting, before brushing your teeth, eating, or drinking anything. This ensures that you are not compromising the electrolyte count in your saliva. Vaginal readings are to be done in the late afternoon. It is very simple to do these readings and takes less than 30 seconds a piece. You do not need to enter any additional information into the Ovacue – it does it all for you!

Why should you get the optional vaginal sensor?
“For women with irregular cycles, using the Vaginal Sensor along with the OvaCue Fertility Monitor is highly recommended. Irregular cycles are commonly caused by hormonal imbalances. For women with a hormonal imbalance, ovulation may occur before or after the predicted time frame that the oral sensor provides. If you happen to ovulate earlier than the oral sensor predicted — the vaginal sensor will be able to notify you 1 or 2 days in advance that ovulation is actually occurring sooner.” (source)

Ibasal

iBasal Thermometer

This basal thermometer is unlike any other basal thermometer that you may have tried. It is a digital fertility monitor as well as basal thermometer. It not only produces your BBT but it also saves it into its memory so that you can pinpoint your fertile days and your ovulation peak. The more months that you use the iBasal, the more accurate it is at predicting your precise fertility rhythms and cycle.

You can even set the iBasal to sound an alarm when it is time to take your temperature each morning. It is important to take your BBT at the same time each morning to ensure accuracy and consistency in your temperature spikes and dips.

This thermometer can make all of the difference in your fertility charting. While an Ovacue may not be in your budget right now, you must invest in this iBasal thermometer to make your TTC journey much easier!

Why?

A regular off-the-shelf basal thermometer simply reports your temperature and nothing more. The user must then interpret the data and resultant chart in order to determine when ovulation occurred. In contrast, in addition to providing a highly accurate basal temperature reading, the ibasal actually interprets your data for you to tell you when you will ovulate and when you’re most fertile. Other data points considered by the ibasal algorithm include bleeding, cramping, cervical mucus consistency, and intercourse dates. The ibasal can even tell you when your results indicate a possible pregnancy! (source)

Fairhaven Fertility: Your Ttc Resource 5 Daily Mom, Magazine For FamiliesI cannot express how much of a difference the Fairhaven Fertility products have made in my TTC journey. It is only just the beginning and I am already feeling at ease that these resources are boosting my chances of conception. With a fertility monitor that does the charting for me, and supplements that are easy to take (or mix into a smoothie), and a yoga DVD that is not only improving my mind, but also my body – these products are truly the support I’ve been missing from other supplements and resources.

  1. Hello
My Dh and i have been ttc for 3 years now with no luck. We will be starting fertility treatments this month. We know DH has a 0% count and myself have low quality eggs. They said they were going to put me on clomid and we will be attempting our first IUI. i was wondering would ovaboost and fertile cm be ok to take along with clomid? we want to do everything we can to help better our chances of conceiving with IUI. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
