Spring has sprung and it’s time to get out the grunge in your life.  This means spring cleaning, spring clothes, and spring skin!

If winter has your skin looking dry and dull, try this simple 3-ingredient face mask to bring some moisture back into your face and give it a healthy glow.

This face mask contains three of nature’s most amazing skincare powerhouses.

Avocado

Avocados are an incredibly powerful moisturizer.  They contain vitamin E, as well as sterolins, which are proteins that help moisturize, reduce age spots, sun damage, and acne scars.  The natural oils in avocados help boost the amount of collagen in your skin, which is a great anti-aging property of avocado skincare.

Oats

Oatmeal has been used to soothe skin irritations for over 4,000 years! The secret is in oatmeal’s anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant compounds called avenanthramides. Basically, that means that oatmeal will help take the redness out, as well as soothe any itchiness you have. Oatmeal helps your skin fight dryness, reduce pore size, and it also moisturizes.

Honey

Raw, unprocessed honey contains enzymes that are extremely beneficial to your skin.  Honey contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it great to treat acne.  It also acts as a humectant – meaning, it draws moisture from the air and binds that moisture to your skin, making it a powerful natural moisturizer.  Honey also refines your pores and tightens your skin.

Here’s What You Need:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 4 tablespoons honey (Raw sage honey, like this one, is perfect for skincare.)

Here’s What You Do:

Using a fork, mash the avocado until it reaches a smooth consistency.  Slowly blend in the oats so they are well-distributed throughout the avocado mixture.  Then, add the honey and stir until blended.

Apply the mixture to your face and let sit for 10-15 minutes.

We recommend using this mask as needed to help moisturize your dry skin.  For normal skin, this mask can be used once per week.  If your skin is particularly dry, you can use this mask 2-3 times per week for maximum impact.
