Whether you own an RV, travel trailer, or plan on taking a trip in one soon, there are camping necessities for travel trailers that you must have.  Small living space does not mean that you need to go without the items that will make your life easier on the road.  In addition, there are plenty of camping necessities for travel trailers and RVs that will help you maintain and have the best possible experience while on the road or at a campsite.

1: Water Filter-As you travel around the country, a good water filter is one of the most important camping necessities for travel trailers that you must have. You will be hooking up to city water as you travel around and you don’t always know what is in the water that you have to use.  Since you will be using that water for your shower, washing dishes, and maybe even drinking you want to make sure it is the best possible water for your body and travel trailer.  You might be surprised at what you find in city water and that hard water is not good for your skin, hair, or your equipment.  

2: Hand-held vacuum- Life on the road can be dirty, literally-as you often are camping on dirt or it is within a few feet of your front door if you have a mat.  This makes a handheld vacuum one of the camping necessities for travel trailers you really can’t go without.  Since you are limited on space a full-size vacuum is out of the picture, but a solid broom, dustpan, and powerful handheld vacuum are camping necessities for travel trailers that will keep your space as clean and tidy as possible

3: Kitchen and closet organizers-Just because you are living in tight quarters and most likely with minimal stuff, that doesn’t mean that organization has to go out the window. Kitchen and closet organizers are camping necessities for travel trailers that will help keep everything in its space as well as organized in tight quarters.  From hanging closet organizers to dish holders, under-the-sink organizers and pull-out stackable baskets these items will help make your day-to-day life a bit easier and more organized.

4: High quality sewer hose and gloves-Camping necessities for travel trailers and RVs are not always fun or pretty and disposing of sewer is never going to be glamorous.  This is also not an area you want to skimp on, while handling your own (and others’ waste) you want to be protected from a messy job being a really messy and gross job.  You will also want to make sure that you have high-quality products that not only get the job done but also the best quality possible as you do not want to buy a cheap product that is unreliable and breaks on you when you have no way to get a replacement when on the road.

5: RV windshield and side window cover-When you are camping you will want to have as much privacy as possible.  Since your RV or travel trailer is your home on the road you don’t want everyone you might walk by to be able to see right in.  Plus RV windshield and side window covers will help protect your privacy as well as keep the heat out when needed. 7: Good mattress pad-Even the best travel trailers and RV’s don’t always come with the most high-quality mattresses.  If you plan on being on the road a lot a solid mattress pad should be on your list for camping necessities for travel trailers.  Your body with thank you and you will be grateful for a solid night’s sleep with the extra padding and comfort.  Look for one that is quick thick as most RV and travel trailer mattresses are not very thick and with the level of firmness you are looking form  

8: Surge protector -When you are hooked up to city power, you might not always have the exact connections you need or the perfect equipment for all situations.  In a pinch, you can use compatible connectors, which means you need to protect your equipment so as not to overload your RV or travel trailer.  A surge protector will help with this and any other surges to your RV from power sources internally or externally.
